Piano-Lacquer Laminate Flooring

As a professional manufacturer of laminate flooring, our Piano-Lacquer Laminate Flooring is a type of laminate flooring made with HDF/MDF as the base material. It is formed by hot pressing decorative paper and then coated with 3–6 layers of UV high-gloss piano lacquer. The core purpose of this structure is to enhance surface gloss (Gloss ≥ 90°) and improve stain and scratch resistance, while maintaining the cost advantage of engineered wood flooring.
Piano Lacquer Series

Piano-Lacquer Laminate Flooring
mirror finish, fibreboard core, no waxing

Piano-Lacquer Laminate Flooring uses an MDF or HDF core with a multi-layer UV piano lacquer process on top. The result is a mirror-grade reflective surface that cleans with a damp mop and never needs waxing — at a material and maintenance cost well below solid wood. Available in four thicknesses (7 / 8 / 10 / 12 mm), wear layers from AC0 to AC5, and both V-groove and U-groove edge profiles. Manufactured by Shandong MINGZUN New Materials Co., Ltd. in Dongying, Shandong. Request a sample and quotation.

The visual difference between a standard matte laminate and a piano-lacquer finish is not subtle — the reflective surface changes how much light a room carries. What buyers want to know is whether that finish costs them anything in durability or maintenance. On Piano-Lacquer Laminate Flooring, it does not: the UV lacquer is applied over the same wear layer used on standard laminate, and routine upkeep is a damp mop with a neutral detergent. The four sections below cover the layers, the thickness decisions, the groove options, and the AC wear grades, so the specification matches the project rather than the surface photograph.

Four Functional Layers

Every plank is built from four layers — each one performing a defined job in the finished floor.

01

Wear-Resistant Overlay

Transparent AC-rated layer that takes foot traffic and furniture movement. This is the layer that determines the abrasion resistance classification of the finished product.

02

Decorative Paper

Wood grain, marble or custom designs printed at high resolution. The piano lacquer process is applied over this layer to produce the reflective surface finish.

03

HDF / MDF Core

High-density fibreboard substrate. HDF is used where dimensional stability and impact resistance matter most; MDF where a flatter, lower-cost core suits the project.

04

Balance Layer

Bottom balancing layer for moisture resistance and dimensional stability. Reduces internal tension from the upper layers and limits the risk of arching over a heating cycle.

03

Thickness Selection

Thickness affects impact resistance, underfoot feel, and expected service life — not only shipping cost.

7 mm
Budget

Budget housing / temporary / rental

Lowest material cost for fast-turnover projects. Suitable where the floor is expected to be replaced within a shorter cycle.

8 mm
Standard

Standard residential projects

The mainstream choice. Balanced performance against cost — covers most residential rooms without needing a specification upgrade.

10 mm
Commercial

Hotels / commercial interiors

Better impact resistance and stability than 8 mm. Specified where the floor will see continuous foot traffic through the working day.

12 mm
Premium

Premium housing / heavy-use environments

Highest durability and longest service life in the range. The firmer underfoot feel is noticeable — the specification most often chosen for high-end residential.

04

Groove Type

Two edge profiles. The choice affects both the visual joint and, on large areas, the installation behaviour.

U

U-Groove

Rounded edge with no sharp corners. The rounded profile reduces dust accumulation at the joint and gives a softer visual seam between planks.

Recommended for Small retail shops, quick renovation projects, rental apartments.
V

V-Groove

More defined joints with better visual separation between planks. The bevelled edge also helps improve stability where the floor is laid across larger areas.

Recommended for Hotels, commercial projects, underfloor heating environments.

05

Abrasion Resistance Grades (AC Rating)

The AC rating indicates the number of revolutions the wear-resistant unit can withstand under the standard abrasion test. Match the grade to the actual traffic, not to the surface look.

AC0
≥ 900 RPM

Temporary construction sites, temporary showrooms. Not recommended for long-term residential renovations or bulk commercial purchases.

AC1
≥ 4,000 RPM

Infrequently used areas — bedrooms, storage rooms, guest rooms.

AC2
≥ 6,000 RPM

Standard model for general household use — living rooms, dining rooms, studies, small apartments.

AC3
≥ 9,000 RPM

Home: children's rooms, entryways, open kitchens, pet-owning families. Commercial: small independent offices, boutique guesthouses, casual dining, brand negotiation areas.

AC4
≥ 12,000 RPM

Medium-to-high-frequency commercial heavy-duty use. Bulk hotel projects, commercial stores, unified renovation of long-term rental apartments.

06

Application Scenarios

Five project categories where this specification earns its place — each one explains a specific reason for choosing it.

01

Residential Renovation Projects

Apartments, villas, and whole-house renovation. The stable dimensional structure is compatible with underfloor heating systems, and the surface holds up to long-term residential use. Common configuration: 8 mm or 12 mm, AC3 wear layer.

02

Hotel and Accommodation Projects

Chain hotels, boutique hotels, and short-term rental apartments. The key advantage for these projects is batch consistency — no colour variation between containers, supporting a unified interior design standard across floors. Common configuration: 10 mm, AC4 wear layer.

03

Commercial Retail Spaces

Wedding studios, beauty salons, and brand showrooms. The high-gloss surface enhances light reflection, which improves the visual merchandising effect in a retail setting. Common configuration: 10 mm or 12 mm, AC4 wear layer.

04

Office and Business Spaces

Meeting rooms, offices, and exhibition areas. Resistant to chair wheels, cabinet movement, and frequent foot traffic. Under-desk castors are a common point of failure on lower-grade surfaces — AC4 and above is the specification to use here. Common configuration: 10 mm, AC4 wear layer.

05

Renovation of Old Buildings

Cost-effective for landlords and contractors upgrading rental properties at scale. Fast installation and low maintenance improve ROI across a multi-unit refurbishment. Common configuration: 8 mm, AC3 wear layer.

FAQ

The questions that come up most often at the specification stage.

MDF vs HDF — how do I choose?

HDF is recommended for high-traffic commercial or hotel projects due to higher density and impact resistance. MDF is suitable for low-traffic residential or budget projects.

If the project mixes both — for example, a hotel with guest rooms and public corridors — specify the two substrates separately rather than using MDF throughout to save on cost.

Is Piano-Lacquer Laminate Flooring suitable for underfloor heating?

Yes. The engineered fibreboard structure provides stable thermal expansion performance, making it suitable for hydronic underfloor heating systems. Confirm the heating system's surface temperature limits with the installer before specifying.

How do I prevent scratches on the glossy surface?

Use protective pads under metal furniture legs. Avoid abrasive cleaning tools such as steel wool. On glossy surfaces in particular, grit tracked in from outside is a more common scratch source than furniture — a dirt-trapping mat at entry points is the practical fix.

What is required for installation?

The subfloor must be flat, dry and clean. Professional click-floor installation is recommended to ensure joint stability. Perimeter expansion gaps should be provided as per the installation manual supplied with the order.

Can customization be provided?

Yes. OEM / ODM support includes size, colour, texture, gloss level, and packaging design customization. Send the target market and reference sample with your enquiry so we can confirm feasibility and the applicable MOQ before quotation.
